The career of being an auctioneer was a popular choice within the
Balog family. It all started with Bob. After graduating from Olds
College with a degree in Animal Science, Bob headed south to Billings,
Montana in 1971 and graduated from the Western College of Auctioneering.
For nine years after, Bob auctioneered at different kinds of sales,
but directed most of his attention to the purebred Hereford business
that he and his family grew up in. Bob's career selling registered
Hereford cattle and other breed sales is now in its 35th year. He
has and still is selling all the major production and consignment
sales in Canada.
Bob was one of the youngest auctioneers to ever sell at the Calgary
Bull Sale and for the past 15 years has been considered the
senior auctioneer at this premier event. Bob has also sold at the
#1 Hereford bull sale in the world for the past 17 years, the Ochs
Bros. in Gunnison, Colorado!
Today, Bob and brother Darwin are partners in Balog Auction - and
together they sell most things agricultural, from cattle to hay to
tractors, across Western Canada and also in the northwestern USA. |
